The PMA Foundation for Industry Talent (PMA FIT) has created the Tip Murphy Legacy Fund (TMLF) to honor the life and career of Terrence "Tip" Murphy, a 15 year veteran of the produce industry. The fund will aid industry professionals seeking to advance their leadership skills and better serve the industry by providing scholarships to PMA and PMA FIT leadership programs.

The goal of the fund is to build a permanent endowment of at least $250,000 by 2012 to award scholarships in perpetuity, thereby creating a legacy in memory of Tip. A limited number of scholarships, will be granted while the endowment is being raised. Scholarships will cover event registration fees and associated hotel expenses for recipients selected to participate in current and future PMA and foundation leadership development programs.

The PMA Foundation for Industry Talent attracts, develops and retains talent for the produce value chain. This scholarship fund specifically supports our development strategy to build a smarter supply chain by developing competent, skilled people prepared to lead our industry.

All PMA FIT donations, including those earmarked for the Tip Murphy Legacy Fund are tax deductible.

Tip Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament

Support the future while honoring the past at the Tip Murphy Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament is sponsored by the Tip Murphy Legacy Fund which was created by Ready Pac, Chiquita, Paramount Citrus and Naturipe Farms to honor the life and career of Terrence "Tip" Murphy, a 15-year veteran of the produce industry. Tournament proceeds support the Tip Murphy Scholarship for Leadership Excellence, a scholarship program managed by the PMA Foundation for Industry Talent to aid industry professionals seeking to advance their leadership skills and better serve the industry.
