Erin Petty – Marketing

• Reason for entering the industry:
• Grew up on a dairy farm in Northern California and was surrounded by agriculture, she wanted to stay connected to her roots.

Erin's roots were planted in Northern California on a dairy farm and she was surrounded by agriculture during her childhood. This influence was the reason followed a career path in agriculture that led her to the fresh produce industry. Upon graduation from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Erin started work at Golden Sun Marketing as a Marketing Specialist in April of 2009. She enjoys her job and the ability to work in the areas of research and marketing so she can focus on trends and cutting edge ideas that can help advance the industry. As a Marketing Specialist, her goal is to develop and carryout qualitative research projects on strategic marketing issues that affect the produce industry. Some of the research topics she works on include developing retail partnerships, implementing sustainability & traceability methods, and international packaging trends. She feels that the deeper she digs on a subject the more likely she is to uncover a 'gem' that will help their clients and deliver new strategies.
