Bill Munger – Director of Fresh Cut Sales
Duda Farm Fresh Foods

  • 23 yrs experience in produce
  • Professional Positions:
    • Sales
    • Sales Manager
    • Sales Director
  • Graduated California Polytechnic State University
    B.S. Agricultural Business Management
  • Reason for entering the industry:
    • A Cal-Poly field trip that included several produce company tours attracted Bill to the fast pace of the produce sales experience.

Bill′s entry into the industry was with Telles Ranch in 1984 as a salesman. He remained with this company for the next seven year where he gained much knowledge on several commodities including strawberries, cauliflower, iceberg lettuce, and melons. Following his career with Telles Ranch, Bill decided to put his talents to use at Misionero Vegetables, another Salinas Valley company. During his 8 year stay, he transitioned from an Account Manager to Commodity Manager for Iceberg Lettuce and was responsible for 8 other sales people.

Bill then took a position with Duda Farm Fresh Foods. When he first arrived at Duda he was the Sales Manager of Food Services and Fresh Cut. Following some company restructuring, he was given the title of Director of Fresh Cut Sales. In this role, he is in charge of fresh cut sales on the east and west coast, new product development, building new accounts, managing current customers, and the overall financial performance of the category.

"During that very first college field trip, I fell in love with the dynamic, fast-paced world of produce buying and selling. I go to work each day knowing that I will be presented with a new set of challenges and opportunities that keep this job so fun. I encourage any young person who thinks they may be interested in a produce career to seek out an industry internship program, so they can really learn what this business is all about."
