Her previous retail and clinical experience allowed her to gain an understanding of consumer awareness and made her want to find other opportunities for educating our nation on healthier eating, which starts with produce. In September of 2009, Allison took a position as the Director of Consumer Health and Education at the U.S. Apple Association. At the U.S. Apple Association, she is responsible for managing a consumer health public relations and education program in order to promote U.S. apples and apple products health benefits and nutrition. She works directly with the association president and members to develop and implement public relations strategies and programs.

"The health of our nation begins with a healthy diet. Produce is at the core of achieving health and wellness. My involvement in the produce industry was triggered by a strong desire to help American consumers achieve and live a healthier life for themselves and generations to come."
