Sarah Brown - Sales and Marketing Manager

Experience in Produce
  • 1 year
Professional Positions
  • Sales and Marketing Manager
College
  • Cornell University
    • B.S. in Communication, Minor in Marketing

Reason for entering the industry:

  • Immersed in the industry throughout her life through her family's fruit farm

Growing up on a fruit farm that has been in her family for over two centuries, Sarah Brown is passionate about the produce business, especially within her native state of New York. She feels that New York is one of the most dominant but often overlooked agriculture players in the industry.

A graduate of Cornell University with a B.S. in communication and minor in marketing, Sarah focused her studies on topics within the food and agriculture industry. While in college, she travelled to Spain and Poland visiting agribusinesses and spent a semester studying abroad in England.

A PMA/Pack Family Career Pathways Scholarship recipient, Sarah attended PMA Fresh Summit in 2008 during her senior year of college. This exposure to various opportunities in fresh produce was one of the most influential experiences for Sarah in determining her career path.

After graduation, Sarah joined Intergrow as a sales and marketing manager. In this position, Sarah manages customer accounts and is developing an integrated marketing communications plan. Sarah is also implementing a formal food safety program for Intergrow by managing the PTI milestones and creating a risk management program for the company.

"Attending PMA Fresh Summit as a Pack scholar opened my eyes to a plethora of opportunities. This experience made me proud of my background and helped solidify my decision to pursue a career in the fresh produce industry."
