Bertice Berry, Ph.D. has been defying the odds since childhood, growing up poor as the sixth of seven children. With the support of a generous benefactor, she attended Jacksonville University in Florida, graduating magna cum laude. She went on to earn her doctorate in Sociology from Kent State University at age 26. With a gift for humor, Dr. Berry became an entertainer, lecturer and comedian, using laughter to bring light to difficult topics. She hosted and was executive producer of The Bertice Berry Show, a nationally syndicated talk show, and hosted USA Live on the USA Cable Network. Dr. Berry is also the bestselling author of numerous books, including her memoir I'm On My Way, But Your Foot Is On My Head. Her passion for giving back has gained her respect and recognition as a dedicated community activist.
