Fresh Perspective was established in 2007 when PMA member, Lyn Hughes, contacted staff with a simple question: "I'm planning on having a women's reception at Fresh Summit to bring together women in the industry. Would PMA like to be involved?"

Of course, PMA was excited to jump at the opportunity and quickly began plans to coordinate the first Fresh Perspective Women's Leadership Event, a networking breakfast with inspirational, business speaker, Alison Levine, leader of the first women's Mount Everest Expedition. Since then, the event has grown to include a silent auction, which brings in funds to help support the foundation mission to attract, develop and retain talent for the produce value chain.

In 2010, PMA FIT expanded the program to include a women's networking event at the PMA Foodservice Conference & Exposition which will be held this year July 30 - August 1 in Monterey, CA.
