Margi Prueitt joins PMA Foundation for Industry Talent as executive director
Newark, Del. – Marguerite "Margi" Prueitt joined Produce Marketing Association's (PMA) senior management team as executive director of PMA Foundation for Industry Talent (FIT) on May 24, succeeding Cindy Seel. Reporting to PMA President & CEO Bryan Silbermann, she will serve as the staff lead to the FIT Board of Directors and be responsible for all program activities and fund development.
"FIT is making the transition from a highly successful start-up foundation that has flourished under Cindy Seel's leadership," Silbermann said. "As we continue the transition to a mature organization, Margi brings the perfect combination of decades of experience as an executive, including fundraising and program development expertise. Watching her interact flawlessly with the FIT and PMA Boards during our recent meetings in Tucson proved that she has the character and skills to take FIT to even greater heights."
Prueitt was chief executive officer of the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula in Wilmington, Del., from 1988-2008, where she was responsible for leading Red Cross programs and services for more than 1 million people in nine counties, managing as many as 49 employees and more than 1,500 volunteers with a budget of $3.6 million. Most recently, Prueitt served as executive director of The Committee of 100 in Wilmington, Del., a nonprofit group that promotes responsible economic development in Delaware.

Among her duties, to increase awareness and support for FIT to help accomplish its mission Prueitt will build and maintain relationships with donors, other industry talent programs, industry organizations, academic institutions worldwide, federal and state governments and other publics. She will also serve as FIT's spokesperson in outreaching to media, industry and other groups.

"In her previous positions she has demonstrated the success in relationship building and fostering strong performance by paid and volunteer team members that will be vital to FIT moving forward."
Prueitt received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, a Master of Science degree from the University of Louisville (Ky.) and participated in an Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, Cambridge, Mass. She is a volunteer with the Food Bank of Delaware and a former president of The Wilmington Rotary Club. Margi and her husband, Ned Aksim, live in Centreville, Del.; she is based in PMA's headquarters in Newark, Del.
