2010 symposium brings high-level leadership strategies to produce industry
Newark, Del. – Produce and floral industry leaders who want to learn from top-level leadership experts, rub shoulders and build relationships with other executives and reinvigorate their management philosophy are invited to participate in the 2010 PMA FIT Leadership Symposium, to be held Jan. 13-15 in Dallas, Texas, USA at Omni Dallas Park West.
The annual event, brought to you by PMA Foundation for Industry Talent (PMA FIT) in partnership with Produce Business and Cornell University, is a pressure-free occasion for high-level leaders to generate ideas. The 2 1/2-day format provides a forum for networking and sharing best practices to stimulate innovation and to provide challenge and inspiration to those who lead the produce and floral industry today and tomorrow.
To maintain the intimate, collegial environment for which PMA FIT's highest-rated event has become known, registration is limited to 100 attendees.
Speakers cover leadership bases
This year's agenda features four expert speakers covering a range of timely leadership topics. After each session, attendees will delve further into the topic in small groups, led by experienced facilitators, and then deepen their understanding of the concepts presented through a question and answer period with the speaker.
Leading in a changing global marketplace often means creating value where no value exists. Joe Pine, internationally acclaimed author of Authenticity: What Consumers Really Want, speaker and management advisor to Fortune 500 companies, will demonstrate that leaders don't respond to a market, they disrupt it. The models and tools he will share will challenge attendees to explore innovative ways to generate economic value. Change leader, speaker, and author Seth Kahan will draw from his book Building Beehives: A Handbook for Creating Communities that Generate Returns to highlight three essential ingredients for healthy business communities to generate greater ROI. He will focus on the role of the leader in building, maintaining and disbanding communities.
David Nour of The Nour Group Inc. and author of Relationship Economics and The Entrepreneur's Guide to Raising Capital will discuss ways leaders and companies can create true innovation by adapting their business models to changing market conditions. Matthew Kelly, president of Floyd Consulting and New York Times best-selling author of The Dream Manager, will close the symposium with an examination of the link between leaders' strategic plans for their own lives and thinking strategically on the job. Kelly will provide thought provoking ideas to build a personal-success framework.
In addition to high-level speakers, the symposium includes relationship-building opportunities through small-group discussions, receptions and dinners. Register by Dec. 4 and save on this one-of-a-kind event. Visit
